ABOUT ME

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and from a very young age I was interested in computer programming. I’ve been a software developer for over 30 years, with knowledge in different technologies and programming languages, having developed a lot of software solutions in this period. And learning new technologies every day!

I also have an MBA in Project Management, an area in which I have had experience for some years and which allows me to solve different types of problems.

Even though I have a successful career in technology, I have always had a passion for nature and, therefore, I also have a degree in Biological Sciences and work as a biologist and teacher, which allows me to unite my desire to teach with my love for nature life.

Being an enthusiast for the democratization of scientific knowledge, I have worked for more than a decade to communicate science in an accessible and interesting way for everyone. I have a Master’s Degree in Scientific Communication and I am very proud to have helped many people to better understand the world around us.

BIOLOGIST

As a biologist, I had the opportunity to study and work with various aspects related to science, life and the environment, such as genetics, evolution, zoology and biodiversity conservation. This diversity of subjects allows me to see nature as an integrated whole, and not just as a series of isolated parts. Currently, I work with environmental education and I study populations of golden lion tamarins in metropolitan areas.
I have a degree in Biology with an emphasis on teaching methods and pedagogy and therefore, in addition to being a biologist, I am a teacher. This allows me to combine my desire to teach with my love of nature. Furthermore to biology and natural science classes, I also teach environmental education courses for people of all ages, in order to raise awareness about the importance of preserving nature.

SCIENCE COMMUNICATOR

I believe that scientific knowledge is a heritage of humanity and, because I believe in the importance of democratizing science, I have been a scientific commmunicator since 2013, when I founded the PAPO DE PRIMATA channel on Youtube, which later gave rise to other media, such as website and scientific communication profiles of with the same name in the main social networks. The initiative is focused on disseminating knowledge about biology, animal life and health, with the aim of helping people to better understand nature and themselves.
In 2021, I received the title of Master in Dissemination of Science, Technology and Health by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. I will continue to play the role of scientific popularizer as long as I can, because this is a lifelong mission!

PROJECT MANAGER

Throughout my career, I've worked on many projects with teams of varying sizes, for companies of all dimensions, with different levels of resources available. This gave me the necessary experience to carry out projects respecting deadlines, costs and human needs involved. I am experienced in project management activities, strategic planning, identification and risk management, team leadership, communication, always focusing on social and environmental responsibilities.
I have an MBA in Project Management. This postgraduate course, in addition to formalizing my training in the area, provided me with techniques for planning, executing and quality control of projects. My project management experience in areas as diverse as software development, education and environmental planning qualify me to act as a manager in projects of the most diverse types. My motto is: if a project is measurable, it can be executed!
